This year, Good Friday and the beginning of Passover land on the same day, April 15.
If you’re hosting an Easter or Passover get together (or both) and are in need of something sweet, check out these shops where you can find cakes, chocolates and more.
Adams Fairacre Farms

For Easter, Adams Fairacres Farms offers four different Easter cakes: the spring bouquet cake topped with flower, the Chick Cake, a white chocolate raspberry mousse cake, or carrot cake. Some other traditional Easter treats available are hot cross buns, struffoli (Italian honey balls), three egg Easter bread, Italian wheat pie or Italian meat pie. They also offers mini pastry or mini cheesecake trays.

Alps Sweet Shop
Where: 1054 Main St., Fishkill; 269 Main St., Beacon
Just passing Alps on either of Fishkill or Beacon’s Main Streets, passersby can inhale the aroma of chocolate. For Easter, the offerings include bunny shaped chocolates, in milk, dark or white chocolate, solid or hollow. Some bunnies are small with big ears, while others are holding eggs. They also offer chocolate crosses, foil wrapped eggs and pansies, jelly beans, and their Easter foil assortment or “Alps Bunny” assortment featuring a full-size Alps bunny, foil eggs, jelly beans, chocolate covered Oreos and gummy carrots.

Annabelle’s Village Bake Shop
Where: 7501 North Broadway, Red Hook
While the bake shop offers more than sweets — there are bagels with meat and cheese, coffee, croissants and more — they do offer an assortment of pastries, including honey buns and rugelach. Where: 13A North Front St., New Paltz
The Bakery, which has been serving the community for 40 years, serves up breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts in an outdoor café or upstairs dining room. For the spring holidays, there are serving up hot cross buns, chocolate babka, Easter cookies, Easter bread with colored eggs, Passover Apple Cake, Mandel bread, chocolate covered matzoh, matzoh kugel and more. This Fishkill bakery makes adorably decorated cookies all year round and Easter is no exception. For Easter, there are cookies in the shapes of bunnies, chicks, Peeps, expertly decorated Easter eggs, baskets, crosses and lambs. They even have decorate-your-own cookies where families can “paint” their own cookie decorations using a special food coloring palette. They also sell cake pops, cupcakes and cakes. This authentic Italian bakery is well known for its creamy, crunchy cannoli and its flaky Sfogliatelle, a pastry filled with cheese, candied fruits and sugar. Here you can also find biscotti, cookies and more. While walk-ins are always welcome, it’s always safe to call ahead before heading out to either place or order or see what they have in stock. Newburgh Flour Shop
Where: 109 Liberty St., Newburgh
The bakery, which offers artisanal breads, cakes and pastries, is taking pre-orders until April 10 for their Easter offerings, including Easter bread wreaths and hot cross buns. They also offer an Easter cookie platter, peanut butter chocolate eggs, and robins egg cake. Once ordered, the baked goods can be picked up on April 16. Nothing Bundt Cakes

Yes, Nothing Bundt Cakes offers bundt cakes in a variety of sizes, flavors and decorations. And for Easter they have the delightfully decorated Bunny Bundt cake, complete with velvet feet and plush ears. If bunnies aren’t your style, they also offer a Flour Bouquet, topped with a silk sunflower and little bumblebees, or the Cheery-O, topped with a silk flower and butterflies. The Pastry Garden
Where: 2600 South Road, Poughkeepsie
Serving Poughkeepsie since 1984, The Pastry Garden offers a variety of sweets for Passover and Easter, including the Naked Bunny, a white cake with Bailey’s and caramel mousse, or the Whimsical, a chocolate cake with cookies and cream mousse. They also offer cross-shaped Easter egg bread, either plain, almond or poppy, topped with one to six eggs.
For Passover, there are sponge rolls in a variety of flavors, a traditional chocolate mousse cake, coconut macaroons and more. Of note, their desserts are made “Passover style” but have not been certified kosher for Passover.
